The team, headed by Senior Account Manager, David Larkins, works with a wide range of clients, large and small, to give expert advice and guidance on which b2b products are best suited to each situation. The Business team works on three main Selectabase products:
B2B Startupsplus Each month Startupsplus sends you details of new business start ups, plus businesses under new ownership or those relocating into your chosen postcode area. Startupsplus helps you get your products or services in front of these businesses at a key decision making moment, and gives you a crucial advantage over your competitors.
Contact the business team to get free counts of start up businesses in your local area and advice on how to handle your sales leads.
B2B Prospa
The Prospa direct marketing list only includes companies which have experienced growth of between 10-1000%, and which crucially have also registered profits. This means Prospa leads have both the need and the resources to purchase your products or services.
The business team can give you free counts from the Prospa list based on the selections you require, such as location, number of employees, turnover, industry and even financial year end month.
B2B Business Prospects
Data is carefully screened for non-marketable locations including dormant and defunct companies to create a quality database containing only the organisations that will want to hear from you.
The Selectabase business marketing team can firstly give you guidance on what markets to target, then provide free counts from the Business Prospects list.
To reach the business team to discuss any of these products, call now on 01304 382211. |

Here’s a useful checklist of things to consider when you receive your direct marketing list from Selectabase:
How are you going to use the list? For example is it for a mailing, or for a telemarketing campaign? It makes an important difference. If you are using the list for telemarketing, it will have been checked for Telephone Preference Service registrations just before Selectabase send it to you, so you should start calling promptly.
What are you selling? Are you offering some kind of incentive or promotion and does it need setting up internally? If you are running a promotion on a certain product, you’ll need to make sure you have stocks in place and your fulfilment or production teams know about it. If you need help getting your offer across in your direct mail letter, use the free letter writing tutorial available here.
What are you going to send? Make sure you have got everything organised that’s going into your mailer. Now is not the time to find out you have run out of brochures! Another common mistake is to overlook envelopes, especially if you are planning to use overprinted ones with your company details on them.
Who is going to send it? If it’s a smaller regular mailing such as the monthly leads you receive from Startupsplus or RecentlyMoved, then it’s normally possible to handle fulfilment of your mailing internally, but you might want to let your staff know in advance. If it’s a larger mailing, have you organised a fulfilment or mailing house to handle your mailing?
Does the list need to be checked first? It’s good practice to screen the new list for any existing customers or contacts. You might not want existing customers knowing about the fantastic offer you are sending to potential new customers for example, plus your customers might not feel valued if you still mail them as if they were prospects. Deduping as it’s called, can be done easily from your desktop using the free Easycheck software from Selectabase – download it from http://www.selectabase.co.uk/i-have-a-list/easycheck/.

You’ve probably heard of the TPS, or Telephone Preference Service, and maybe the CTPS, cold calling law and £5000 fines. You could be forgiven for wondering what all the fuss is about. But in fact the TPS affects every UK business which uses the telephone, if you sell to the public or to businesses.
So let’s unravel some of the myths and truths surrounding the Telephone Preference Service:
If you have a larger list of numbers, use free Easycheck software to check your lists against the TPS, CTPS, as well as the MPS register, check for gone aways and bereavements, and even depupe multiple lists.
